I have been listening to the biggest complaint ever from non christians in mass scale. It's ok if WE believe in some unseen God, but why do we have to cram "Our Jesus" "Our Religion" "Our Belief" down everyone elses throat?
I undestand church people have been LESS than LOVING toward others members and even worse toward non believers. Many christians have a religion but no relationship with Christ and his anointing. The church grew cold for many years, pushing dogma instead of the LOVE of Christ.
Several churches I have attended throughout the years have been offensive toward me. It's not the church of course, it's the holier than thou christians who park themselves there and do nothing to go out into the highways and byways to bring in the outcasts and the lost.
We had a church merge with ours once. Our church was filled to capacity. Within a month they were all gone. We did not welcome them as part of our family. Most people saw them as a nusiance, just strangers who sat in their seats! ...and they were christians! I can only imagine how we treat non beleivers when they come in off the street looking for the LOVE of God within our doors!
I went on a retreat with a group of christians ladies. One lady in our group (the eldest) insulted every waitress, usher, and individual who came across our path. None of us told her anything. I'm not sure why, but the insulted people saw us as all one person. "Those people insulted me," I heard someone say as we walked out.
I'm ashamed. We certainly were not projecting the LOVE of God allowing that behavior. Then we wonder why people do not want any part of "Our Religion!" Since they don't want a part of our religion by seeing how we behave we are forced to "Cram it down their throats" or threaten them with "HELL FIRE!"
...And we have the nerve to wonder why the world is in the condition it is in. It's our fault, yet we take no responsibility.
Christ said, "They shall know you by the LOVE you have for one another!" You can't win another soul until they see the LOVE of God emanating from your heart, not a phoney LOVE either. It's got to be the REAL MCCOY!
That's why non Christians feel Jesus is being crammed down their throats. We are preaching dogma and showin NO LOVE!
The fruit of the Spirit (of God) is LOVE, JOY, PEACE, LONG SUFFERING,TEMPERANCE, GOODNESS, etc. If you are not showing these fruits, go back to the drawing board before you witness to another person.
To non believers who read this, let me sincerely apologize to you for our past behavior and for those who have not walked in LOVE toward you or have tried to CRAM Jesus down your throat.
We want you to know the LOVE of GOD, to experience a soul set FREE, to have eternal life and live an overcoming, successful life on earth. That's the real goal. We know HELL is a real place and fear of loved ones going there blinds Christians sometimes.
Accepting Jesus as your substitute for the sins you have committed is the only way to have eternal life after death. The new teaching is to say there are many ways to heaven. That is a complete lie. Christ said "I AM the only way to the Father."
If you have not done so, ask Christ to reveal Himself you to. Ask Him into your Heart and see if He is Real. He will prove Himself to you if you are sincere in asking.
Then...Walk in LOVE toward others.
