Takin' It Back...

Well, I must admit yesterday was a challenging day. I woke up determine to settle some issues that had been looming over our family like a big black rain cloud sputtering thunder and threats for the last six weeks.

It was a spiritual war no doubt. I thought about everyone who may be facing battles. Some even worse battles, life threatening, torn families, etc. I have a word for you. You're better than you think!

I realized that Christ paid the price for us so we would not have to face all those obstacles defeated. He said, "Be of good courage," He said, "I overcame the world."

The problem is many people, even Christians, don't always know how to get the VICTORY into the immediate, impending, life threatening crisis they are facing.
Here's the secret: It starts with your words...

Your reaction to any situation starts and ends with the words you confess and let's back up-the thoughts that you think!

Some situations are avoidable, some situations are beyond your control. Let's say you unexpected lose your job, like many people are right now. The situation is grave. Yours is the only income in the family. There are children to care for, a house payment, a car note due, no groceries to speak of, etc. Insurmountable issues facing you. I've been there, so have many others.

The worst thing you can do is begin to confess (speak openly about) with worry the issues your facing.

I would immediately find God's word on the issue and replace and answer every doubt with the incorruptible seed of God's word. It's called incorruptible seed, because when planted in good soil it grows and works every time.

So I find the the scripture: "The gracious hand of God is upon me." Nehemiah 2

"God takes pleasure when I prosper." 3 John

(I could tell you exactly where to find the verses but you need to read the whole chapter and make sure I am not taking it out of context.)

Those 2 scriptures will give me VICTORY if I plant them in my heart. That means Believe Them-by rolling them over and over and mediate on those words until they manifest in my life. In spite of what it looks like, seems like, and is. I expect contrary circumstances to arise, but I don't get my eyes foced on them. I have my eyes focused on God's promises.

If the gracious hand of God is upon me then God will turn the situation around for me. If God is pleased when I prosper then He must have a better job, business, plan ahead for me. Over and over I reason out what God can do with those words. I speak them out when someone asks me what I am going to do, when doubt comes and whispers in my ear. I answer out loud! I answer every doubt.

That doesn't mean you sit on your duff and wait. You have to update your resume, go to the unemployment office, buy a newspaper, make some calls, network, etc. It's not pie from the sky. Faith requires action as well. Then God opens the door.

To get back to my rain cloud...

I had to demand that some property stolen from one of my children be returned. It was an impossible situation to expect to get it back after 6 weeks.

...but I had a scripture...I had a confession, I had a an action plan. I started by warring with the spirit holding the belongings. (We wrestle not flesh and blood but against principalities, powers, etc) I made it very clear they had no rights. I explained my position in Christ Jesus, as the Victor in every situation, both me and the children God gave me.

Then I faced the person in this world. I explained the situation. It was an all day battle believe me, but after hours of negotiation, something broke. The black cloud lifted. The $1000's of dollar worth of property was returned. They literally drove everything over and returned it, then offered more than we asked for.

Now that's VICTORY!

Does VICTORY happen in one day? No, very rarely. But if you make up your mind you will stand until the promise comes you won't be standing very long!
