I was at a christian seminar a few years back. We were deep in studying the word and it was all making sense and hitting home. All of a sudden the Preacher stopped preaching. I'm not ashamed to say it was Kenneth Copeland. He suddenly felt a strange urge to apologize to every black man (& woman) in the Fort Worth arena.
I suppose it seemed strange and out of place at that moment to some people. It was incredible really. He made every black man stand up and formally apologized for everything every white prejudice man had ever done to them. He apologized on behalf of his family, for his ancestors, for my ancestors, and for the atrocity of slavery that dragged men here (to the U.S.) against their will. He apologized for the oppression, the segregation, the insults, the beatings and everything else he could think of.
Copeland walked around the room and hugged black men until they wept. Whispering in theirs ears. Something broke in the spirit realm that day. I will never for get it as long as I live. It was totaling away from the teaching that day. (in the physical world anyway)
We broke for lunch. The air outside was fresh and clean with a new softness, a rebirth of some kind.
Some years later I sat across the table from a black man at an public event and I was reading my bible waiting for the event to get started. He asked me if I would read out loud to him. There were several people seated at our table within earshot but I read out loud anyway.
We began to talk when people left the table. He was a backslider. He confessed. (I'm not going to explain all that) I felt the power of God on me so strong that day. I began to tell him things I did not know I knew. It's what you call revelation knowledge!
I said, "If you take a look at what God is doing in America right now you'll notice that God is raising up an army of black men who are doing some of the most powerful preaching in America." I named a few powerful black preachers, who are dynamic in their conviction to the Lord. Yeah, I gave him names! God did anyway.
I suddenly realized they were all centered around the Atlanta area. I kept talking, "See, satan brought black men to this country some 400 years ago as slaves, to be held in bondage, but God has taken their children (the heirs of slaves) and turned them into mighty men of God who are breaking the chains of bondage off the white man (the heirs of slave owners) now with their powerful preaching and teaching of the Word of God. The bondage of 400 years of slavery and oppression is finally being broken in American just like it was broken off the Hebrew children who were in bondage to Egypt for 400 years. We are going to start seeing black men owning TV Stations, becoming senators, moving into powerful, influential positions in America."
The most powerful black preachers are coming out of the Atlanta area because that is the same area of our country where the black slaves were being taken to be sold when they were first brought to America on slave ships.
So we have now come full circle. What the devil meant for harm against the black man is turning around for good not only for black men but for the good of our nation! Now it's the black man who is pulling the white man out of severe bondage he has been put into. It's no coincidence we have a black president for the first time in history! It's no coincidence that Will Smith is the most powerful draw at the box office!
There is so much more to this...and maybe I'll write more later but for today...
One more thing. I'm not black but I am going to say all this anyway. You just listen.
Ignorant white men who did not know how to pronounce the name of the the African nation Nigeria, (NI-ger-i-a) where black slaves where coming from for a time, began to call Nigerians, niggers. In reality, the slave owners were specifically asking for Nigerians (or niggers, as they called them) because they were warriors, big buff hard, working men who made the best slaves for the money. All the slave owners wanted Nigerians and would pay top dollar for them. So the next time someone calls you a nigger, you should just say, Thank you. It's really a compliment.
